Jupiter and Venus get Mooned December 1, 2008 at 10:45 pm

Tonight we were treated to a rare celestial showing.  Jupiter and Venus (not Mars as lots of people have been saying) joined the crescent moon for a show in our backyard.   Nathanael came out on the deck with me with his Crayola Camera while Daddy was shooting with his D200 and a 70-200mm on a tripod.

Venus is the brighter and larger “dot” (lower part of photo) and Jupiter is the smaller “dot” (upper part of photo).
