Sometimes when I listen to Christian radio, I’m in the car driving or it’s just playing in the background while I’m working on a task, such as making blog posts. But then there’s that song that plays that grabs your attention and compels you to just stop whatever it is that you’re doing and give 100% of your attention to the song. That’s usually what happens whenever I hear a song by Tenth Avenue North. Control (Somehow You Want Me) is one of those songs. Obviously, when I’m driving I can’t always stop and give 100% of my attention to the song, so I have to try and catch the song at another time.
I watched the lyric video for the song and then I watched a video in which Mike Donehey talks about the song. Finding time for me to spend with God hasn’t always come easy for me. I try and set aside time to do devotions and have a quiet time with God, but it just doesn’t always happen. And by “doesn’t always happen” I mean, it usually doesn’t happen.
As I was watching the video by Mike, I realized something. Photography is my “…wasting time with God…” thing. Maybe that’s why I feel I need to get back into photography. Maybe I need to do nothing and waste more time with God. I’m looking forward to some warmer weather so I can get out and do nothing.
