At the beginning of the year, I decided that I wanted to be more active about my photography. I need to be more proactive and aware of the opportunities around me. I’ve often been told that the best camera is the one you have, so why not use the camera on my cell phone?
When my wife and I moved to Virginia and purchased new cell phones, they asked us if we wanted to add a camera to the cell phone. Back then the quality was so bad I hardly ever used the camera on the phone. Now the cameras on cell phones are so good it’s one of the top features people consider when they buy a new phone. I just recently upgraded my phone to the Google Pixel 2 XL, which has one of the best cameras on a cell phone. I’ll be writing about why I did this in more detail for YourTechExplained.com, a tech blog I’m involved with. I’ll update this with a link when it’s available.
Both the photos above were taken with the Pixel 2 XL. The photo of the dog was not edited. That’s exactly how the image looked after capture. The photo of the car was edited using Snapseed and ToolWiz Photos.
I’m going to try and be a little more conscious about what I see around me and share the results with you.
My Instagram feed is private. I had to do this in order to protect against some not so nice things. I do want to share with you as much as possible, so feel free to add me on Instagram. I also have photos posted on Flickr, 500px, and Tumblr. I might not post every photo I take to every social media stream, but I’ll do my best.
