In October the Jacob family took a trip to see In The Beginning at Sight & Sound’s Millennium Theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After visiting Sight & Sound, we took a tour of Amish Country, sampled some good Amish cooking and of course we had some shoo fly pie!
Yesterday morning, as the kids and I were preparing to run out to the library, the kids took a glance outside and yelled “A FAWN!!!!!” I’m glad the windows were closed or they probably would have scared our guest away. I tip-toed out the front door onto the porch and took this shot:
I think our visitor was injured. Mom wasn’t anywhere to be seen and Bambi here didn’t budge until the kids came out the front door. She was gone when we got home, so she probably ran into the woods near our house.
I was working downstairs and the kids excitedly came down the stairs to tell me that “There’s a mommy deer in our yard!” I ducked out the backdoor with my camera and I was afraid I would scare her away. I walked down the stairs on the porch and Thumper ran out from under the stairs. I walked cautiously around front and fired off a few shots (photos, not gun shots).
