In March I had the opportunity to go to up to Baltimore. I hadn’t been to Baltimore in a number of years and I was disappointed that I did not have much extra time in my schedule. My trip really wasn’t for the purpose of doing photography, so I hope I can return soon.
In October the Jacob family took a trip to see In The Beginning at Sight & Sound’s Millennium Theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After visiting Sight & Sound, we took a tour of Amish Country, sampled some good Amish cooking and of course we had some shoo fly pie!
I wanted to try my hand at High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDR or HDRI), so I set out on Friday afternoon and made a few stops while running my errands.
This is a woodshed that I pass almost every day on my way into Linden, VA. I stopped and took a few quick shots because I think the traffic on Dismal Hollow Road wasn’t happy that I was blocking a lane (no shoulders).
The Front Royal and Warren County area is growing. We now have Walmart, Target and Lowes. We have a Holiday Inn and a Hampton Inn. We have Cracker Barrel and Applebee’s. We have arrived! Despite all this growth, we still do have open spaces. We have plenty of farms in the area and on these farms are old farm buildings. All you have to do is drive down any road in the area and you’ll see one of these “I can’t believe that thing is still standing” type buildings. I really like looking at these buildings. I just have to make sure I’m paying more attention to the road than I am to the scenery.
